    2. Thank you Derek, but my history in education is with training teacher in the use of ICT so I believe that is one of my motivating factors.

  11. Hello,

My name is Kady Beckles. I am a Technical Vocational teacher in the area of Agriculture. I have been teaching for the past nine (9) years. My first appointment was at Belmont Secondary School, formerly the Junior Secondary School, presently I am at La Romaine Secondary School. With the re-organization of the Curriculum I am presently teaching Technology Education and CVQ- Crop Production (Growbox). My students are generally those who enjoy practical/hands on work and thus generally excel at all tasks.

I am very interested in this topic as my subject area, require students to engage in group activity and entail a lot of projects as evidence of their learning which they have to include in their portfolios. My students know that all I expect of them is THEIR BEST, whatever it is and the willingness to try again if at first they do not succeed.

My interests include stamp collecting, baking, gardening, reading and jogging.

  16. WebQuests in my opinion are a truly engaging way in which students can learn. The real world connections make learning more meaningful for the students and because this approach requires the direct involvement of students, this makes them more responsible for their learning. I suppose practice makes perfect. The time to set up the WebQuest was slightly challenging for me (in particular the Introduction), but I expect that this will become easier with time. I do see the benefits with this approach and can actually anticipate the students excitement with using this approach to learning.
