Welcome


Welcome to CCTI Module 6 – Project Approaches to Learning with ICT.

The purpose of this module is to help you plan and experience the practicalities of project-based learning. Project-based learning (PBL) includes a range of typical activities and approaches to teaching and learning. In addition to this there are implications for classroom management. During this module you will experience many of these aspects as you work within your own class and in collaboration with other classes.

  2. I am looking forward to it as well. But honestly speaking, I am getting really weary of what comes across as the haphazard ad hoc way in which programs like this seem to be prepared. I would really have liked to know at the start of the journey exactly when I can expect to be doing which module, and when I can reasonably expect to complete the programme. In other words a schedule of courses. Now this comes in the middle of the term and I have to make adjustments for what can only be a hectic schedule of readings, assignments and deadlines competing with an already hectic schedule of classes, marking of assignments, and the endless round of busyness associated with the work of a teacher/dean!
    Nevertheless, I look forward to this module and await the call!

  9. Good day fellow group members,

    I am Keith Burkette, an educator in the field of Information Technology and attached to St. Mary’s College in the education district of Port of Spain.

    The “digital divide” which exists between technology and education is a path I willingly traverse as my background in Technology and my role as an educator has me well poised to appreciate some of the issues associated with traditional learning environments and 21st century learners from the point of view of both fellow educators and learners alike. As a result, I continually strive to offer constructive solutions and provide my learners with innovative ways of making learning fun.

    Over my young education career I have had the opportunity to interact with learners from Forms 1 to 6. My last academic year saw me interacting with learners in the subject area in Forms 1, 2 and 4 and I look forward to the new learning opportunities which present themselves in this academic year.

    As a graduate in the Education Technology discipline, I welcome the opportunities which this course offers in improving not only my competencies but the benefit it will afford my learners and fellow colleagues as they embark on infusing technology into the curriculum in their various spheres of expertise.

    I would like to take this opportunity to extend my greetings to all and look forward to sharing and learning with you as we embark on discovering ways of infusing technology into our educational craft to create knowledgeable global citizens.

  11. I feel that it is a bit daunting to attempt the webquest, however, after going through the roles of Efficiency expert etc. looking at the different examples from different perspectives I feel a bit more equipped for the challenge. Sandy

  12. I agree with you Sandy! I found the webquests provided very interesting and students would be very energized and involved. However I wondered if I would be able to meet the challenge and create one as interesting and challenging fulfilling all the criteria. So here we go !

  13. The task of assigning group roles for my web quest was a challenging one. The goal of the web quest had to kept in mind at all times, although the examples given were a great assistance. Once done, individual and group effort can be clearly seen and assessed, promoting those 21st century skills we want to emphasise-communication, collaboration, critical thinking, etc

The assigning of group roles I think is a good one as it allows different and required perspectives to be brought to a task/activity .It also efficiently facilitates the showcasing and development of 21st century skills such as communication, and critical thinking skills .Students are forced to collaborate with each other and students can be rewarded for individual as well as group output
